As the World Burns
From repurposed plastics to upcycled fabrics, K-media's Eco-Art Show and Sale aims to provoke, inform and inspire viewers to live more sustainably.
Warming global temperatures are changing weather patterns and disrupting the usual balance of nature around the world. This poses many risks to human beings and all other forms of life on Earth. Let's use art shine a light on climate change, examine the way we live and find new ways to take personal action against climate change.
Artists considered to be working within the ecological art field subscribe to one or more of the following principles:
- Focus on the web of interrelationships in our environment—on the physical, biological, cultural, political, and historical aspects of ecological systems.
- Create works that employ natural materials or engage with environmental forces such as wind, water, or sunlight.
- Reclaim, restore, and remediate damaged environments.
- Inform the public about ecological dynamics and the environmental problems we face.
